Heptabase
PaidAn incredibly innovative, visually stunning knowledge management tool that forces users to organize complex concepts on massive, infinite whiteboards.
About Heptabase
Heptabase is a highly visual, spatial alternative to text-heavy tools like Obsidian and Roam. The founders realized that the human brain does not strictly process complex academic research in a linear list of bullet points; it processes information spatially, by visually mapping concepts out on a massive board.
The platform perfectly merges standard text note-taking with infinite whiteboarding. A researcher can write a highly detailed, multi-paragraph text note about a historical event. Instead of just linking it, they drag that entire text card onto a massive, infinite 2D canvas (called a 'Whiteboard').
They can then drag 10 other related notes onto the board, physically drawing arrows and complex flowcharts connecting the ideas. This spatial organization is an absolute game-changer for visual thinkers, allowing authors, researchers, and system architects to literally 'see the big picture' of a massive, 500-page book or complex engineering project perfectly laid out from a bird's-eye view.
